Description

Stylish and practical in equal measure: The Women’s »Combrook« Tweed Coat combines classic British country elegance with premium craftsmanship and thoughtful detailing. Made of pure wool and finished with a protective Teflon coating, this mid-length coat is weather-resistant and impervious to dirt.

Finely balanced faux suede accents on the collar, angled flap pockets and buttoned cuffs lend the design a refined touch. The distinctive button placket with gold-toned logo buttons provides a stylish highlight and underscores the coat’s sophisticated character. A centre back vent ensures ease of movement, while the gently tailored fit subtly enhances the feminine silhouette.

Practical features such as an internal pocket and a colour-coordinated lining in an elegant paisley design complete the look in style.

Alan Paine

For more than a century, Alan Paine has stood for the finest British knitwear and timeless country clothing in classic, nature-inspired hues. Founded in 1907 by William Paine in Godalming, Surrey, the heritage brand has grown over generations into an established name in premium country and outdoor style. Godalming already had a long tradition of wool working when William Paine discovered several dusty knitting machines in an old warehouse on his family’s estate. With an instinct for quality and craftsmanship, he began producing his first sweaters—garments that quickly won wide acclaim. In the 1920s, when deep V-neck wool sweaters became fashionable for sports such as cricket, rowing and tennis, the label’s popularity soared, enabling Paine to open several shops, including a London store. Among its distinguished patrons was Edward VIII, then the Prince of Wales, whose preference for bespoke knitwear left a lasting mark on the brand’s reputation. During the Second World War, Paine supplied the British armed forces, with the Royal Navy in particular valuing the durability of his sweaters. After the war, Alan Paine took over the family business, steering it with foresight into a new era. By the late 1960s, for marketing reasons, Paine’s of Godalming became W.F. Paine Ltd., and eventually Alan Paine Knitwear Ltd.—a name that, to this day, remains synonymous with exceptional countrywear and refined knitwear craftsmanship.
