Description
The unmistakable note of the Gunpowder tea from Asia gives the gin its characteristic spiciness and combines perfectly with the other ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander, angelica root, cardamom and star anise. Chinese lime, grapefruit and kaffir lime give this gin a slightly acidic, fruity freshness which contrasts marvellously with the oriental spices. A total of twelve exquisite ingredients are used for the Irish gin. It is distilled in small batches in copper pot stills to achieve a perfect balance of aroma and flavour. After distillation, the »Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin« is stored for a further 21 days to harmonise the ingredients. This is followed by a light cold filtration. The subsequent bottling, including labelling, is traditionally done by hand.

The story of Shed Distillery and its founder Patrick J. Rigney is a story of passion, dedication and innovation and begins in 2014 when he - a passionate whiskey and gin lover - decided to start his own distillery. Rigney, a native of Ireland who had spent many years in Asia and Africa, was fascinated by the art of distilling and refining spirits. On his return to Ireland, he was looking for an opportunity to realise his passion and create something special. In an old shed in Drumshanbo, a small town in County Leitrim, Rigney found the perfect place for his distillery. Together with his wife Denise, he founded »The Shed Distillery« in 2014 and started producing his first gin, the »Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin«. The philosophy of Patrick J. Rigney and The Shed Distillery is to combine traditional Irish distilling techniques with modern innovation to create unique spirits that tell a story and have a special meaning. The packaging and design of the bottles are carefully crafted to convey the history and craftsmanship behind each spirit. The gin quickly became a cult drink and won numerous awards in international competitions. Today, The Shed Distillery is known for its high-quality spirits, all of which are produced in small batches and with great attention to detail.
