Frost River Nessmuk Backpack

Description

The Nessmuk backpack is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary Maine Guide Pack from the 1880s. It was originally designed by George Washington Sears – better known as Nessmuk – a renowned writer and outdoorsman. Handcrafted in Duluth, Minnesota, this backpack represents the highest standards of quality and traditional craftsmanship.

With a capacity of approx. 17.3 litres (expandable to approx. 31.14 litres), the Nessmuk backpack offers ample space for all your gear – whether for hunting, hiking or daily use. The spacious main compartment is secured with a practical flap closure that protects the contents from rain and snow. One long side pocket and two shorter, stacked side pockets provide additional storage space. An internal zip pocket and an open front pocket offer easy access to small items.

Made of durable 18 oz waxed cotton canvas, this backpack is not only exceptionally hard-wearing but also a stylish statement for any outdoor enthusiast.

The shoulder straps made of sturdy cotton webbing with leather attachments ensure a high level of comfort even on extended outings. An additional leather carry handle allows the backpack to be carried comfortably by hand.

Whether in the field or on a raised hide, the Frost River Nessmuk backpack impresses with its functionality, durability and carrying comfort.

Manufacturer

Frost River

Frost River is an American manufacturer of high-quality and robust luggage based in Duluth, Minnesota. The company was founded in 2001 by Steve Emerson, who had previously been head designer at Duluth Pack for more than twenty years. Frost River quickly gained a reputation as one of the best suppliers of American-made luggage on the market. After seven years, the company had to close its doors in September 2008 due to the economic downturn. A year later, Frost River was revived under the leadership of Benson and Rinerson and continued its tradition of providing high-quality, durable, American-made luggage. The company offers a wide range of products including backpacks, bags, tote bags, suitcases and accessories for camping, hiking and other outdoor activities - all made in the Duluth factory. Despite the wide range of products, the company remains true to its roots and continues to focus on producing robust, hard-wearing American-made products. Frost River uses only the finest raw materials, including solid brass hardware, sturdy waxed cotton fabric from an East Coast fabric mill and premium leather from the S. B. Foot tannery owned by Red Wing Shoes. Frost River places great emphasis on sustainability and environmental protection and strives to use environmentally friendly materials and production processes. The company is also committed to supporting local artisans and craftspeople in Minnesota and the surrounding area.
