Description
Tasting notes: The salmon pink colour with copper reflections sparkles seductively in the glass. The wine beguiles with a fruity, intense bouquet of juicy blood orange, aromatic vineyard peach, ripe honeydew melon, sweet vanilla notes, white nougat, some hibiscus blossom and a beautiful herbal note on the finish. On the palate, the rosé is juicy and fresh with an elegant, silky creaminess. The finish has a beautiful combination of elegance and pressure. The acidity is wonderfully harmonious, almost silky.
Food pairings: Excellent with grilled fish and shellfish dishes, beef tartare, mild soft cheeses and summer salads. We recommend drinking the wine at a temperature of between 8-10 °C.Best served and enjoyed in a burgundy glass!

Pia Strehn
The Strehn winery from Deutschkreutz in Mittelburgenland (Austria) is known for pure, straightforward and individual wines. Pia, Patrick and Andy Strehn have set standards with their imaginative rosé creations, and not only in Austria. They are already the fourth generation to cultivate around 45 hectares of vineyards with vines up to 60 years old. Pia Strehn took the lead in progressively switching the production of the classic red wine estate over to rosé wines. Today, 80 percent of the grapes harvested are made into rosé wine. In the beginning, the vision was to create an alternative to rosé wines with mediocre popularity ratings. The role model was French rosé icons that had long since reached the pinnacle in the world of wine. Pia Strehn decided to turn their local Blaufränkisch into rosé and then also to age it in barrels. The different wines stand out not only for their colour and taste, but also for the original names and labels by Nikolaus Eberstaller, which were awarded the Red Dot Design Award. Today, the range comprises six different wines, from the light »Prickler« to the statement rosé »Elefant im Porzellanladen«, which is matured in wooden barrels. The basis for the wines is always the organically and sustainably farmed red wines from Deutschkreutz with a focus on Blaufränkisch. The »Elefant im Porzellanladen« is today considered one of the best wines of its kind.
