Description
The wine: The Riesling presents itself in a pale yellow with greenish-silvery reflections in the glass. The deep and savoury expression of red peach, pastis and hibiscus, paired with smoky, stony notes enchants the nose. The palate delights with aromas of ripe stone fruit, juicy citrus fruits and an elegant herbal spiciness. Pointed and crystal clear, with taut but perfectly integrated tartaric acid – as elegant as a stag.
The food: The Riesling (»The Mighty Stag«) harmonises perfectly with seafood and fine fish such as trout, salmon and char. It also pairs wonderfully with pasta with a light lemon sauce or mild cheeses. We recommend drinking the wine at a temperature of between 8-10 °C.

Sighardt Donabaum
»Full of wanderlust, but a homebird at heart, forester and winemaker Sighardt Donabaum developed his hunting instinct for high quality wines at an early age."
The winery is located in the municipality of Spitz an der Donau in the world-famous Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau, about 80 kilometres west of Vienna. It was first mentioned in documents in the 12th century and has been in the family since 1833. Growing up in his parents' vineyard, Sighardt Donabaum has been familiar with the cultivation and production of fine wines since childhood. Despite his attachment to the region and his parents' business, he simultaneously felt a longing for the faraway. He thus decided to live a life as a forester and hunter, completely in harmony with nature, far away from his home, in North America. Training as a forester brought him a little closer to his goal of living in the vastness of Canada. But despite his wanderlust, his passion for wine always remained. His experience as a winemaker, forester and independent mind guarantees unique wines and allows Sighardt Donabaum to break with tradition again and again – in pursuit of genuine, unmistakable quality. The grape sets the ideal of taste. To come as close as possible to this principle, all wines are processed naturally and left untreated. Apart from care, experience and a passion for the highest quality, nothing is added.
