O'Neil of Dublin
Located in the heart of Dublin’s historic Old Town, in the traditional Copper Alley and just a few steps from Dublin Castle, O’Neil of Dublin has its headquarters. The site within the old city walls holds special significance, as bespoke garments for Dublin’s nobility were already being made in Copper Alley centuries ago. The company was founded in 1956 by James Sexton. With just four sewing machines, two cutting tables, a few steam presses and a second-hand pleating machine, he laid the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. By 1959, O’Neil of Dublin had already specialised in the production of classic kilts – garments that have since been appreciated far beyond the borders of Ireland. The company remains family-owned and is now run by the second generation. With great care and a deep commitment to traditional craftsmanship, O’Neil of Dublin continues to honour its roots and maintains its dedication to quality and authenticity – for nearly 70 years.
